A Rich History of Excellence

Established in 2005, the Department of Animal Science at Chukwuemeka Odumegwu Ojukwu University (COOU) has become a beacon of excellence in agricultural education. Despite initial challenges, including the relocation of the State College of Agriculture, the department has flourished and established itself as a leading institution in animal science. It offers a robust curriculum that blends theoretical knowledge with hands-on experience, supported by state-of-the-art facilities such as commercial poultry farms, food analysis laboratories, and a mini ranch for breeding livestock. These resources enable students to gain practical skills essential for their future careers in agriculture.
