In January 2022, the faculty achieved full accreditation for two of its departments—Food Science & Technology and Fisheries & Aquaculture—at the first attempt. Another significant achievement was the occupation of the ultramodern annexed faculty building complex, complete with water reticulation. This state-of-the-art facility provides students and faculty with a conducive environment for learning, research, and innovation.

In October 2024, the Faculty of Agriculture at COOU organized its 3rd International Agricultural Conference, bringing together experts, researchers, and students from around the world. For undergraduate admission, prospective students must have a minimum of five credits in O-level subjects, including Mathematics, English, Chemistry, Physics, and Biology or Agricultural Science. Additionally, a JAMB score of at least 200 is required. The admission process involves generating a remitta for an application form through the university portal, making payment at the bank, and submitting the completed application form.

Postgraduate admission requirements vary depending on the program. For a Postgraduate Diploma (PGD), applicants must have a third-class degree in a relevant discipline or an HND with upper credit. For a Master of Science (M.Sc) program, candidates must hold a B.Agric degree with at least a second-class lower division or a PGD in a relevant field. Ph.D. candidates must have a CGPA of at least 3.0 in their M.Sc program or have completed a successful M.Phil program.
